What's Happening at DBS

We’re excited to announce that the phased approach to implementing GCSE (IG) modular exams at Doha British School (DBS) has begun. A change designed to enhance learning outcomes for our Year 10 and Year 11 students.

This structured approach allows students to gradually build their knowledge and skills, mastering each topic in a focused manner. Through modular exams, students benefit from:

• Reduced Exam Pressure: Smaller, regular assessments enable students to approach their exams with confidence, mitigating the stress of one high-stakes final.
• Focused Learning Pathways: Students can concentrate on specific subjects one step at a time, which fosters a deeper understanding and reinforces key learning concepts.
• Personalised Learning Progression: With regular feedback, students have more opportunities to identify areas for improvement and strengthen their performance incrementally.
• Resit Opportunities: This system provides multiple chances for re-sits, if necessary. Learners can benefit from feedback to enhance their performance and achieve the grades required for progression.
